PricewaterhouseCoopers Grants Two Wishes

Through generous support from partners and staff of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) practice in BC, two seriously ill children realized their wishes.

Aaminah, from Chilliwack, is just 4 years old and has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Her wish was for a backyard swing set, a play centre and some outdoor toys. The equipment and toys were delivered to Aaminah last month, and she participated in assembling them along with her family.

Five year old Zarius lives in Burnaby and was also diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Zarius realized his wish to visit Disneyworld with his family earlier this month.

"It's unique to have one organization grant the wishes of two children at once, and we are very thankful to PricewaterhouseCoopers for their generosity" said Gwen Ford, Director, BC & Yukon Chapter. "The impact of these gifts on the children and their families cannot be understated. It really makes a difference by providing cherished memories for the whole family, and a welcome break from medical treatments.

"Aaminah's mother remarked on how thrilled her daughter was to have her wish granted, and how wonderful it was to see her smile, laugh and just have some fun."

"PwC is thrilled to be able to support the Children's Wish Foundation and help out during a difficult time for children and their families," said John Webster, PwC's BC Region Practice Leader. "Giving back to our communities is something we believe in strongly at PricewaterhouseCoopers, it's just the right thing to do."
