The Roughneck Racing Crew, a group of oilfield business men, turned their dream into reality when they purchased a rally truck and entered the Baja 1000. It’s a grueling race along the Baja Coast where most competitors are just happy to finish.  Since their own dream was coming true they wanted to grant someone else’s wish.

Rylan is an adorable three-year-old suffering from a very rare pancreatic insufficiency and a failure to thrive.  His wish was to meet Cars characters Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater in Disney World.  The Roughneck Crew raised $10,000 towards Rylan’s wish, and upon their return from Mexico, Rylan and his family set out for Orlando.  

Reflecting on the impact of the wish, Rylan’s mom described “the look on his face when he met his heroes was the most heart warming look we have ever seen. That brief time we forgot just how sick he is, he was allowed to be a normal child and it brought tears to our eyes.”
