March 24, 2010 (Burnaby) The mission is simple and the results will be monumental! Wishes without Borders is a unique celebration produced by a unique partnership – Canadian Border Services officers and lower mainland Medical Practitioners. These dynamic groups have teamed up to raise much needed funds for the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada – BC & Yukon Chapter.
On Saturday March 27th, the River Rock Show Theatre will come alive with some of the cities best entertainment. Dancers, Contortionists and Musicians will entertain the sold out crowd late into the evening. Pancho and Sal and the Blues Piggies Band are two of several acts donating their talents to this incredible production.
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the only all-Canadian wish granting organization with offices in every province and territory. Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 15,000 children and their families. This year the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes as it commemorates 25 years of service across Canada. The Foundation has never refused a wish to an eligible child and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family.
