Magical Memories!

Scooby-doo comics, hide and seek, macaroni and cheese; at first glance Griffynn has many of the same interests as any five-year-old child.  However when you dig a little deeper, you realize this little guy from Gibson British Columbia is wise beyond his years.  Mumford & Sons is his favourite band, he enjoys writing and illustrating his own stories, and when asked what he wants to be when he grows up his response is “a tow truck driver, so I can help people who are broken down.”

Always bursting with energy, Griffynn had to slow his pace when at the age of three he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Griffynn spent 8 months at the hospital for his treatment, which took a toll on Griffynn physically, and his family emotionally.

Boarding a plane for the first time in his life, Griffynn, his mom and dad Lisa and Chris, Nana, as well as older brother headed to Disneyworld for his Wish.  While in Florida his family stayed at the Give Kids the World Village.  Each day after exploring the theme parks the boys would make a trip to the Ice Cream Palace in the Village for an endless supply of their favourite flavours.   Once home from their adventures Lisa wrote saying “Our trip gave us the gift of time.  Time together to laugh, play, be carefree , be joyful – everyday feelings that families should have, but which are sometimes challenging to create and maintain when faced with a life-threatening illness.  Our trip was absolutely perfect and perfectly magical.”
