Luca is a typical 10-year-old boy. He loves to play soccer and street hockey with his friends. But unlike his friends, Luca isn’t always able to enjoy the sports he is so passionate about. At age two, Luca was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic illness which affects the entire body and is characterized by difficulty breathing.
Luca and his mom (Lisa) and dad (Jim) just returned from their wish trip to Hawaii. Lisa recalls, “Waikiki was beautiful. The weather was perfect. Luca loved going down the slide at the pool and boogie boarding. One of his favourite things was kayaking at Kailua beach with his dad. He did so well and just loved it.”
The positive impact that wishes have on a sick child are the reason they exist. Luca wrote, “I loved the sun so much. The ocean was warmer than the pool! I made some friends and we had fun playing pool in the lobby. I liked everything, every day was so fun. I will remember this trip forever, it was so much fun. Thank you for making my wish come true!”
“A big thank you to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. What an amazing organization, to be able to bring such joy to children and their families," raves Lisa.
