When Rachel was born she was given the Chinese heritage middle name, Suyan, which means "long cherished wish". After much discussion, Rachel decided her wish would allow her to explore her Chinese Canadian culture through travel to Hong Kong.
Having endured her 8 years with a complex heart defect, this spring, Rachel along with her parents and sister embarked upon their journey.
The highlights of this vacation were numerous, from experiencing the diversity of street life to the Giant Buhda, the crazy cab drivers to the attractions of Disney World Hong Kong, each moment was full of wonder.
Rachel has kept a journal of her experience and proudly explains the many photos of her wish come true, which is truly reflective of her name.
