The Children’s Wish Foundation is proud to announce that March is Children's Wish Month. During Wish Month staff, volunteers, and supporters of Children’s Wish will celebrate granting over 18,000 wishes of children diagnosed with a life threatening illness, as well as raise awareness and funds to grant future wishes.
Children’s Wish Month is about dignity, about dreams coming true, and about the quality of life for children coping with life threatening illnesses. Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. This year the Children’s Wish Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes.
“During Children’s Wish Month we are asking all BC residents to help celebrate and to make wishes of deserving children come true,” says Amber Dyce, Chapter Director of The Children’s Wish Foundation British Columbia and Yukon. “Host an event of your own, attend an event in your community, make a donation, or simply visit our website to learn about a wish made by a child in your community.”
Children’s Wish Month will be kicked off on March 1st in the downtown core where busy Vancouverites will be asked to stop and share their ultimate wish. This will be followed by a number of events throughout the province, such as a Princess Tea Party at the Coast Hotel & Convention Centre in Langley on March 10th. The Princess Tea Party will include royal makeovers, delicious high tea treats and enchanting entertainment.
Wish parents such as Bill Ray will also host events in the month of March. “Children’s Wish sent my son to Disneyland before he passed away and for that I am grateful” shares Ray, “I truly believe in The Children’s Wish Foundation and what they stand for which is our precious children and I want to support them as much as I possibly can.”
