The 8th Annual Swing and a Wish Golf Tournament presented by Saskatchewan Blue Cross in support of Children’s Wish - was a huge success yesterday, raising over $75,000 for wish children like Kai, Tye and Shaylin. These three wish children were given celebrity status at the DirectWest Banquet of Wishes at Moonlake Golf & Country
All 144 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the course, except for the freak rainstorm, hoping to shoot a perfect hole in one on the 18 hole tournament. Golfers challenged their skill on the fun holes by driving with marshmallows, putting with hockey sticks and chipping into a pool of rubber ducks.
The evening was capped with a delicious meal from Moon Lake and a large selection of silent auction prizes. The audience was captivated by former wish child Lindsey, now 26, who spoke on her story of being diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 11 and being granted a wish of a trip to the Caribbean by the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, in her early teens.
