On February 16, 2007 a gala dinner took place in Gander to launch the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Flying Boat. $30.00 from the sale of each dinner ticket sold was donated to The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada was chosen by the committee as their charity of choice for the year’s celebrations.

The highlight of the Flying Boat Festival International will be the re-enactment of the Flying Boat Flight departing from Botwood in the Bay of Exploits on July 5, 2007.
