Throughout Bethany's life, and especially during her battle with Leukemia, her underlying philosophy has been to face adversity with humour and to laugh whenever possible. It came as no surprise, that her wish was to meet one of her favourite comedians - Robin Williams.
Bethany's family arrived on the set of the movie "Old Dogs" at the Santa Ana Zoo in Los Angeles. Their morning was to consist of viewing the filming from a designated area referred to as the "Canadian Pavilion" (a tent with 6 director's chairs - one of which had been silkscreened with Bethany's name, a little TV monitor and two headsets).
The day held many wonderful surprises. Despite his busy schedule, Robin Williams spent time with her family chatting and telling jokes between "takes" and later during a BBQ lunch. Fellow actors, Seth Green and John Travolta also took the time to say hello.
Bethany and Robin exchanged gifts. For Robin, Bethany drew a beautiful, free-hand collage of all the animated characters that Robin did voiceovers for. Robin in turn gave Bethany two autographed scripts of upcoming movies he will be featured in.
