Students of the 2011 Selling Smiles 101 program got more than a semester of learning direct sales from their professor Derek Hassay, they also granted a wish to a very deserving little boy and his family. Chance, along with his older siblings Lauryn and Cole, his mom and family friend will be travelling to Disney World this spring thanks to their tireless efforts. Chance suffers from a Congenital Heart Defect and has already undergone two open heart surgeries at the young age of six. His Mom, Sara spoke to the class explaining, “this just isn’t a gift for Chance but for all of us. It gives us an opportunity to heal as a family unit and make up for all the missed birthdays, holidays and time with each other.”
As part of this year's Selling Smiles 101 course, students sold Cutco knives with the support of Vector Marketing and donated their commission, held pizza sales, 50/50 raffles, dance fundraisers and asked for donations in order to raise nearly $29,000 in support of Chance's wish. Derek went on to explain how proud he was of the students for not only accepting the challenge of selling Cutco products but for taking on the task of fundraising as well. Over $180,000 has been raised through the Selling Smiles program. Thanks so much to Vector Marketing for their continued support, Derek Hassay and all the students on another successful year.
