Laurianne was granted her wish in 1998 thanks to The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. Her two older brothers, Vincent and Francis, will never forget that time. Last March, they decided to organize an unusual fundraising event for Children’s Wish and to surprise their sister.

Vincent, who had very long hair, first “put a ransom on his head” for his workmates at the Videotron call centre in Joliette. The idea was so well received that some of his colleagues decided to take up the challenge and raise money too. Not only did they shave their heads, but they also had to wear the "ugliest" haircut for one week to show Laurianne their support  because she had been the target of so much mockery due to her loss of hair when she was younger.

With the support of management and the collaboration of the whole team, 15 participants got their hair cut and raised almost $1,600.

Laurianne was told of the project only as she was being taken to the hairdresser, just before Vincent and Francis were shaved. At first, she was taken aback and didn’t understand what was going on. Then she leaped into their arms, thanking them for the surprise. It was a very emotional day they will remember a long time!
