Ismaël on the Steps of History in Normandy
Ismaël is a 13 year old history enthusiast living with a nephrotic syndrome (kidney disease). His favourite historical period is the Second World War and he dreamed of visiting Normandy. Accompanied by his parents, his two brothers and his sister, Ismaël travelled to the beaches where the Allied forces landed on D-Day. He visited the Juno Museum and saw the remains of an old floating dock used for the landing. He also had the opportunity to live an extraordinary moment when he participated to a family reunion of the Samsons – his father’s family name – in St-Gatien-des-Bois, the small village where his ancestors come from. That was one of the most memorable moments of his trip, one he will cherish for a long time.
