How do you decide if your child is eligible for a wish?

We're dedicated to granting exceptional wishes to Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.  Once a child is referred to us, the decision about eligibility is based on a medical approval.  Our medical advisory committee and our staff work closely with the child's physicans and parents to ensure the appropriateness of the wish.

How are children reffered for wishes?

Most referrals come from parents, family members or the network of doctors, nurses and social workers engaged with the child.  Referrals can also come from friends, other wish families, community and support organizations, school teachers or caregivers.

What kind of wishes do you grant?

Each wish is as unique as the child who makes it.  A wish can range from a personal computer or a home theatre system, to travel or a meeting with a celebrity.  By far our most popular wish has been a Disney experience for children and their famillies.
