Dear Children’s Wish

In April 2004 when I was 13 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and was told that I could wish for anything. I was thinking about it a lot and was watching “Finding Nemo” and thought how cool it would be to see the Great Barrier Reef, so I wished to go to Australia to swim with the fish on the Great Barrier Reef.
In February 2006 I was granted my wish to snorkel on the reef with my family, I was so excited! It was a very long flight to get to Australia, but the flight was worth it. We stayed at a beautiful resort called Angsana in Palm Cove. The best part of my trip was to go snorkeling - the fish and reef were breath taking. We went with a small group of people and a marine biologist who explained about the Reef and the fish, which were absolutely AMAZING. 

We saw lots of other things too, including The Zoo, Aboriginal Cultural Parks, a crocodile zoo where we saw crocodile shows, the rainforest, and lots of shopping! We also saw lots of kangaroos, Koloa’s, dingo’s and lizards which were really cool. I was sad to leave but we came home with memories that will last a lifetime, thanks to the Children’s Wish Foundation, wishes really do come true!
